Encroaching wildfires and the resulting wildfire smoke in Manitoba have resulted in the evacuation of several communities across the province.
The Canadian Red Cross is working closely with Indigenous leadership and provincial and municipal governments to determine the best way to support individuals, families, and communities impacted by the ongoing wildfires in Manitoba.
Register with the Red Cross if you are impacted by wildfires in Manitoba
People who were evacuated from their community in Manitoba are encouraged to register with the Red Cross. Registration with the Red Cross ensures people can be contacted while away from home, and can be reached with information on Red Cross services and assistance that may become available to them during this difficult time.
When registering, you will be asked basic information about you and your household, such as your name, date of birth, email address and home address.
If you were evacuated from a municipality:Please register online (municipality) or by calling 1 (800) 863-6582 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. Central Time.
If you were evacuated from an Indigenous community:

Financial assistance
On behalf of the Government of Manitoba, the Canadian Red Cross is distributing financial assistance to households that have been evacuated from their primary residence in municipalities and non-First Nations communities due to the wildfires in Manitoba.
Eligible households will receive financial assistance to help cover their immediate needs related to their evacuation. Direct financial assistance allows people to make decisions on what is best for themselves and their families.
To access this assistance, people must be registered with the Red Cross. People who have not yet registered with the Red Cross are encouraged to do so by calling 1-800-863-6582 between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. Central Time, or by going online at www.redcross.ca/2025manitobawildfires to register or find the reception centre nearest them.
Please note: If a household has already registered with the Red Cross online, over the phone, or in person, they should not register again. Once a Red Cross registration number has been received by a household for the 2025 Manitoba Wildfires, that household is considered registered and does not need to do so again. Any duplicate registrations may delay the process as additional validation will be needed.

How You Can Help Support People Impacted by the 2025 Manitoba Wildfires
Those wishing to help are encouraged to donate to the 2025 Manitoba Wildfires Appeal to help the people and communities affected by wildfires in the province.
Donations to the Canadian Red Cross will be used to assist those impacted in Manitoba with immediate and ongoing relief including financial assistance, support to evacuees and the communities hosting them, recovery and resilience efforts in response to the wildfires, as well as supporting community preparedness and risk reduction for future all-hazard disaster events within Manitoba.
Both the Government of Canada and the Government of Manitoba will match every dollar donated to the Canadian Red Cross 2025 Manitoba Wildfires Appeal. Every $1 donated will become $3 to support the families and individuals most impacted by wildfires. Donation matching will be open for 30 days, retroactive to when the appeal first opened on May 28, 2025.
