2026 Ottawa Floods

On July 1, 2026, the City of Ottawa experienced intense rainfall, along with high winds. This impacted families and communities across the city. We are working closely with the City of Ottawa, and other partners to support residents impacted by the flooding following the extreme weather event.

2026 Manitoba Floods

Some communities in Manitoba have had to leave their homes due to encroaching flooding caused by heavy rainfall. The Canadian Red Cross is working closely with Indigenous leadership and provincial and municipal governments to support individuals, families and communities impacted by flooding in Manitoba.

Venezuela Earthquakes

Two of the strongest earthquakes in over a century struck north central Venezuela on June 24, 2026, causing severe damage across several regions. The Canadian Red Cross and Red Cross Red Crescent Movement are working to support the Venezuela Earthquakes response and help those impacted.

Democratic Republic of Congo Ebola Outbreak 2026

An Ebola outbreak has been confirmed in Ituri Province in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The DRC Red Cross, supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and Red Cross Red Crescent Movement partners, is driving local readiness and response efforts, alongside health authorities.
