2025 Manitoba Wildfires Grants

The Canadian Red Cross is offering grant funding to eligible communities to support recovery from the 2025 Manitoba Wildfires and to strengthen their capacity to respond to future wildfire events.

2025 Manitoba Wildfires Fire Equipment and Training Fund

The Canadian Red Cross is providing one-time grants to eligible fire departments in communities that responded to, or were impacted by, the 2025 Manitoba Wildfires. These grants will help address gaps in training and minor equipment needs identified as a result of the 2025 Manitoba Wildfire response.

Who can apply

  • Indigenous governments, municipalities, and regional communities that were directly impacted by the 2025 Manitoba wildfires may apply on behalf of their fire department.
  • Communities with a population of 5,000 people or less that responded to the 2025 Manitoba wildfires by hosting people who were evacuated, sent in fire crews, or otherwise provided support to communities impacted by the wildfires.

Application period

Proposals will be accepted until July 31, 2026, for costs and activities between April 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027. Proposals will be reviewed as they come in.

Funding available

Communities with a population of 1,999 or less can apply for between $10,000 to $100,000 in funding.

Communities with a population between 2,000 to 5,000 can apply for between $10,000 to $200,000 in funding.
