Recovery Grants for Community Organizations
We continue to support people and communities impacted by the 2025 Saskatchewan Wildfires. Community organizations play a major role in the recovery of their community.
We are offering recovery grants to support community organizations that deliver recovery-focused services. These grants help strengthen their ability to do this work.
Recovery grants can fund new or existing activities or services that help communities recover. This can include the following:
- Activities that bring people together, such as restoring outdoor community spaces or hosting events that help people feel connected.
- Activities that help organizations build or rebuild, such as providing recovery training for staff and volunteers or engaging volunteers.

Organizations must meet the following criteria to be eligible for funding:
- They must be registered and in good standing with the appropriate federal or provincial body.
- They must have been in operations on or before January 1, 2025.
- They must offer services to communities impacted by the 2025 wildfires in Saskatchewan.
To apply, you must complete and submit a proposal. Email us at CRCgrants@redcross.ca to receive a proposal form. Our team is available to discuss your project ideas and help develop your proposal.
2025 Saskatchewan Wildfire Emergency Grants
The Emergency Grants Program supported community organizations that responded to immediate needs of communities impacted by the wildfires. This program is no longer accepting applications.Community-led initiatives we have funded
Below is a list of organizations we have supported through our grants:
St. John Ambulance, Saskatchewan
Supported wildfire evacuation response through the provision of essential medical, psychosocial and logistical support at evacuation sites and hotels.
Northern Village of Denare Beach
Funding is supporting a number of community recovery activities that will help to rebuild social connection and improve emotional wellbeing.
Creighton School Division #111
The local school is introducing a full-time, in-school mental health worker to provide trauma-informed therapeutic support.
Northern Village of Beauval
The Beauval Community Healing Project is supporting the community’s emotional, cultural and social recovery through a two-day healing gathering.

Fraud Alert
Unfortunately, there are some people who may try to take advantage of those impacted by a disaster through fraudulent tactics. To protect yourself from fraud, it's important to understand the steps involved in receiving funds from the Canadian Red Cross.
The Canadian Red Cross communicates only via email, phone, or in person and would never send a link through a text message for a person to click on to receive funds. We will never ask for your social insurance number, bank account information or credit card number during your registration or to receive assistance. The Canadian Red Cross encourages people to stay informed from credible sources, such as the Government of Canada’s website for fraud prevention tips. If you suspect you have been a victim of fraudulent activity, please contact your local police authority.
