2018 Ottawa-Gatineau Tornado
Thanks to the generosity of Canadians, the Canadian Red Cross helped those impacted by the tornadoes that tore through the Ottawa-Gatineau region in mid-September 2018.
In the immediate aftermath, the Canadian Red Cross responded at the request of the City of Ottawa and the City of Gatineau by staffing reception centres and shelters, providing information and referral services, registration, and emotional support. The Red Cross also provided financial assistance to community organizations, and to families and individuals with urgent needs.
