July 2013. Lac-Mégantic. A train derailment followed by explosions, that claimed 47 lives devastated the town of Lac-Mégantic, and forever changed the community. Volunteer Denis Desilets was on site to help the Canadian Red Cross during one of the darkest moments in Quebec’s recent history.
Since then, he is clear on his conviction that human presence and empathy are among the most valuable forms of support there are in times of need.
Over the next two decades, he would continue to convert his conviction into practice. His appointment to the Canadian Red Cross Board of Directors is a testament to his commitment.
