Thanks to the generosity of donors, and with the support of the Government of Alberta and the Government of Canada through the 2023 Alberta Fires donation match, the Canadian Red Cross is launching the Immediate Support to Not-for-Profit Organizations program to provide urgent support to those affected by wildfires across Alberta. This program supports local community organizations who are providing immediate relief assistance to those affected by the fires, alongside the Canadian Red Cross and other responders on the ground. This program is in recognition of the need for increased service delivery demands they are facing due to the wildfires in Alberta. This program is intended to focus on contributing to help meet unmet needs and does not duplicate insurance or government assistance programs.
Community organizations who meet the criteria outlined below may apply for $5,000 in funding. This financial assistance is to provide urgent, flexible relief funding to organizations to provide services to those that are facing impacts due to the wildfires in Alberta.
Application Period
Applications will be accepted beginning May 18, 2023. The application deadline is July 14, 2023, and may be extended based on the wildfire activity in Alberta.
