Joy Martin has volunteered with the Canadian Red Cross since 1998, when she says, "the seven Fundamental Principles hooked me." She is involved with many Red Cross teams, including the Personal Disaster Assistance Team (PDAT), the regional Emergency Response Team (ERT), the National Safety & Wellbeing Team, the National Social Emergency Response Team (Indigenous Northern and Remote Communities).
Since graduating in social work, Joy has held positions and appointments in community outreach and mental health services.
She is an active volunteer with various organizations and currently sits on the City of Belleville's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Becoming a National Member of the Canadian Red Cross extends Joy’s commitment to the Society and allows her to continue learning and contributing further.
