Commitment to Anti-Racism

Our commitment to anti-racism

Racism violates human rights and is a threat to the safety and wellbeing of our communities. The Canadian Red Cross rejects racism and prejudice in every form. Diversity is at the core of the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement and something that is celebrated as a strength of our organization. Creating safe space for the voices of Black, Indigenous, people of colour and other racialized communities is critical, now more than ever. We provide impartial humanitarian assistance while continuing to work toward deep-rooted and long-lasting change in the communities we serve.

Framework for working in Indigenous communities

The Canadian Red Cross is committed to reconciliation and the humanitarian principles that guide our work. We have implemented the Indigenous Peoples Framework in order to deliver culturally appropriate and relevant assistance in programs in partnership with Indigenous leadership.
