Eric Dion

Professional headshot of Éric DionEric Dion has been a volunteer since 2018. He is an Emergency Response Team (ERT) coordinator, a Personal Disaster Assistance Team (PDAT) team leader, and a senior emergency management facilitator. He frequently responds to PDAT calls in Montréal. He served as a site manager during the Manitoba wildfires in the summer of 2025, assisted with the reception of Ukrainians, and supported vaccination centres during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before joining the Red Cross, Eric served 25 years as a senior officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. He deployed six times internationally and eight times in domestic operations such as ice storms, floods and wildfires, in addition to providing assistance during major events.

Eric won the Jean-Pictet International Humanitarian Law (IHL) team competition and completed an internship at Henri Dunant Institute of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). He holds a PhD and teaches at l’École Nationale d'Administration Publique (ÉNAP).

As a National Member of the Canadian Red Cross, Eric brings a dynamic, constructive and pragmatic perspective to contribute to the organization's excellence.
