Volunteers assisting with large-scale Saskatchewan evacuation
- More than 150 Canadian Red Cross volunteers and staff from the Prairies and other parts of Canada have been mobilized to assist thousands of people who had to evacuate their homes in Northern Saskatchewan as a result of fires.

- Forest fires are affecting more than a dozen First Nation communities in Northern Saskatchewan, resulting in evacuations.
The Red Cross is providing emergency assistance such as food, clothing, shelter, referrals, and other necessities on behalf of the Saskatchewan Government for a total of 5,265 people. Our teams are ready to assist others if more communities are impacted.

First aid makes a difference in the workplace and at home
- As a paramedic, I recently responded to a call in a local store for a female who may have been having a seizure. When I entered the store, staff greeted me at the door and guided me several aisles down to a female lying on her side on the floor. Store staff had already redirected customers away from the scene while another staff member was down by the injured woman’s side, keeping her calm.
Red Cross searching for next Humanitarian Award recipients

(Regina, January 21, 2015) The Canadian Red Cross in Saskatchewan is once again asking the public for nominations for the prestigious Young Humanitarian of the Year Award and the Humanitarian of the Year Award. These awards will be presented at the Red Cross Power of Humanity Gala happening in November 2015.

- It's hard to believe that 2014 has very nearly come to a close. Nostalgia has officially kicked in and we’ve started to reminisce over all the notable events that occurred in the last twelve months. While many top 10 lists focus on the newsworthy stories from pop culture, sports and science, we thought we’d also take a minute to look back at the year in Red Cross Talks posts. So, without further ado, here are our ten favourite posts of 2014 in no particular order.
My body is nobody's body but mine
- While the memories of childhood can be vague, this song (My Body Is Nobody's Body But Mine) still makes my ears perk up. It may ring familiar with my fellow children of the 80s. For the uninitiated, the song was part of a sexual abuse prevention program aimed at children.
Red Cross launches raffle to help end bullying

Today the Canadian Red Cross launched the Red Cross Campaign for Kids Raffle, with proceeds going to help Saskatchewan students learn how to address and prevent bullying.
