Pakistan Floods

In Pakistan, flooding has affected more than 2.5 million people and left 550,000 displaced from their homes. The country’s roads, bridges and communication structures have been badly damaged and many areas remain inaccessible. Some of the villages affected by the storms are made from mud with thatched roofs situated next to river beds, making it difficult to withstand flooding.
In Pakistan, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is appealing to donors for $18 million to support the Pakistan Red Crescent Society in providing urgent assistance to people affected by the flooding. So far, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society has distributed at least 13,000 food parcels to vulnerable families, while some 14,000 patients have received medical care from Red Crescent and Red Cross mobile health teams.
