Canadians are being urged to donate generously to assist victims of Typhoon Durian that has devastated the Philippines and Vietnam. More than 650,000 people that have been affected and 1,050 people are feared dead.
The International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent has issued an emergency appeal $11.3 million to support the Philippines and Vietnam National Red Cross Societies. Funds raised in Canada will be forwarded to the Federation, the PNRC and VRC to provide shelter, food, water and medical care.
