How to confirm if a First Aid/CPR Certificate is valid?

To check on whether a Canadian Red Cross first aid/CPR certificate is valid, please take the following steps:

  • Go online to myrc.redcross.ca
  • Click on “Validate Certificate” located at the very top of the webpage
  • Fill in the certificate identification number found on the certificate provided to you, along with the last name of the person who received the certificate
  • Click on “Validate
  • The search result will either verify the certificate or indicate an issue

Please note: a “temporary certificate” is only valid for 30 days and may not be able to be validated online. A temporary first aid/CPR certificate should be replaced with a certificate that is valid for three years, which can be downloaded by the participant after 10 business days of taking the training.
