Victoria Mitchell


Victoria is from Newfoundland and Labrador and has been volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross since 2012.In her present role, Victoria is a supervisor with the Personal Disaster Assistance Team and a member of the Safety and Wellbeing Team. She frequently supports other Red Cross initiatives such as Operation Lost and Found, Kent Days fundraising, and Emergency Response Team inventory.
 
A geophysicist by background and working in the oil and gas industry, Victoria has held leadership roles within several organizations in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sector. She has a passion for supporting women in science, engineering, and technology. Throughout her career she has been a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and the Women’s Leadership Teams.  For many years she has been a mentor with the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers, a lecturer with the Petroleum Institute Human Resources Committee, and a guest speaker at various technology events.
 
The Canadian Red Cross has provided her with many opportunities to take on new roles. The position of National Member will help her to expand her role within the organization and to work with other people from across the country with diverse views.
