Matey Mandza


Matey is originally from Quebec and has been a volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross since 2006. He is primarily involved with the Restoring Family Links Program and the Detention Monitoring Program.  He also served on the Provincial Advisory Committee in Quebec for three years. He is an ambassador for the Red Cross in his region and is already showing interest in the new community health initiatives to assist seniors.

Matey is a researcher and trainer at the Centre collégial d'expertise en gérontologie de Drummondville and teaches legal and ethical aspects of intervention with seniors at the Université de Sherbrooke. He is very involved in the well-being of seniors and, as such, has been vice-president of the board of directors of the Association québécoise de gérontologie for the past three years. He has experience in project management and fundraising for local non-profit organizations.

Matey has been a voting member with the Canadian Red Cross since 2017.  He takes this role very seriously. He recognizes the importance of the role of National Members in the governance of the Society.
