Caberry Yu has been a volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross since 2011, when she helped establish its York Region Youth Action Council. Since then, she has led the McMaster University subgroup of the Red Cross and still serves as a Personal Disaster Responder in Hamilton. She has participated in large Red Cross responses, including refugee claimant and COVID-19 pandemic responses.
Caberry is an MD graduate of Queen’s University and a Resident Physician at McMaster University. As an advisory expert, she produces evidence-based guidelines on improving the health of communities and older adults as a fellow at the National Institute on Ageing.
She is interested in continuing as a National Member due to her long-term commitment and dedication to the Canadian Red Cross, and she looks forward to the opportunity to continue to give back and contribute to its governance.
