Steven Wheeler
Steven Wheeler is an anesthesiologist with Alberta Health Services. For the past 20 years, Steven has practiced anesthesia at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, a facility serving vulnerable populations and patients with complex medical and surgical needs. There, he has seen the painful realities of opioid poisoning first-hand – and learned the value of reducing harm through improved education and access to naloxone within vulnerable populations.
Steven has also completed two tours of duty as a civilian anesthesiologist with the Canadian Armed Forces in Afghanistan.
He also holds a Master of Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.,
Steven was elected to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Red Cross in 2023 and serves on the Quality Committee.
Steven is based in Calgary, Alberta.
