Amit Mehra
Amit Mehra brings four decades of experience as an accomplished corporate executive in the natural resources sector with CNOOC International, Nexen, Suncor, and Petro-Canada. He has established and advanced projects in many countries internationally and has led both functional and business entities. He has extensive and wide-ranging experience in governance, strategy formulation, business management, and technical and operational leadership. Executive positions held by Amit during his career have included Vice-President, Strategy, Planning and Portfolio; Vice-President, Global Exploration and New Ventures; Vice-President, Business Development; and Vice-President, Exploration and Subsurface Development, Americas.Amit has volunteered with the Canadian Red Cross at local, provincial, and national levels. He was previously a member of the Board of Directors from 2004 to 2012, during which time he chaired the National Audit and Finance Committee, as well as the Compensation and Leadership Development Committee. Between 2010 to 2012, he also held the position of Vice-President. Amit rejoined the Board of Directors in 2014. Since then, he has served on various committees of the Board of Directors and as Vice Chair of the Board chaired the Governance Committee from 2020 to 2023. He held the position of Chair of the Board form 2020-2023. Now he sits as Past Chair of the Board of Directors, is chairing the Nomination Committee and serves on the Governance Committee, Human Resources Committee and National Membership Committee.
Amit is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal, the Order of the Red Cross, and numerous other citations for community service.
He is based in Calgary, Alberta.
