Disaster Response Alliance

Through the Disaster Response Alliance (DRA), we are bringing together leading Canadian corporations who recognize the importance of investing in disaster relief. This means Red Cross can pre-position supplies, and ensure systems and disaster teams are ready to respond across the country. The DRA is playing a crucial role in expanding our capacity to respond, so that Red Cross will continue to be there when Canadians needs us.

We are grateful to the ongoing support of our DRA partners. Their investments ensure that Canadian families; businesses and communities will be more resilient in the face of the next disaster.

RBC LogoRBC Foundation

In 2019 the Canadian Red Cross became a partner of the RBC Foundation in their Tech for Nature initiative, a new commitment by the bank to support projects ranging from the availability and accuracy of environmental data to influencing positive behavior change as it relates to environmental conservation. Their goal: to leverage data and technology to transform and improve the world we live in.

Our specific partnership model is designed to address anticipated increased natural disasters due to climate change through the implement of pilots that overlay flood mapping data with data specific to financially vulnerable communities. We anticipate results that will allow the Red Cross to better plan for disaster resilience at the community level—all while ensuring the anonymity of RBC clients and Red Cross beneficiaries through data encryption.
The CRC looks forward to implementing community-focused resilience education based on the outcomes of our data analysis in this partnership, which is the first of its kind for CRC.
