Professional Standards & Quality Assurance (PSQA) Team Member

Volunteer opportunity conditions:
- Location: This is a hybrid volunteer position that will involve virtual team meetings and onsite volunteer activation.
- Minimum age: 18 years and older.
- Minimum volunteer hours /period: Successful applicants will carry the designation of Professional Standards & Quality Assurance Analyst for a period of three years (for a maximum of two terms).
- Specific requirements: Ability to travel across Canada and to successfully complete all initial and on-going PSQA education programs. Must be able to attend a minimum of 70% of all team meetings.

As part of our commitment to high-quality, impactful programming, we are looking for dedicated volunteers to join the Professional Standards & Quality Assurance (PSQA) Team. This is more than an observational role—it’s an opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of first aid training, uphold program integrity, and collaborate with a team of quality assurance professionals who share a passion for excellence.
As a volunteer in this role, you will:
- Partner with Quality Management Officers to uphold program standards and explore best practices that enhance training effectiveness.
- Engage in Standards & Excellence Reviews, both scheduled and situational, to help identify opportunities to enhance training delivery and assess consistency.
- Capture key observations and insights, using team-developed reporting tools, to contribute to meaningful program assessments.
- Join ongoing professional development opportunities to expand your expertise.
- Review and interpret training data, helping to guide informed decisions that drive continuous program enhancement.
- Share your knowledge and experience with team members that foster a shared commitment for high-quality training and professional growth.
- Develop positive relationships with instructors, training partners, and Quality Management Officers to foster a culture of excellence in CRC’s First Aid Programs.
You bring these essential talents:
- Understanding of the Canadian Red Cross’ principles, policies, and mission.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Red Cross Prevention & Safety Programs.
- A passion for maintaining high standards in first aid training and program delivery.
- Strong analytical skills to assess training sessions and interpret data.
- Experience or knowledge in quality assurance processes and program evaluation.
- A keen eye for detailed note-taking and report writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Project.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team setting.
- The ability to maintain objectivity and professionalism when conducting reviews.
Preferred Qualifications (Assets, But Not Required):
- Designation as a CRC Master Instructor Trainer, Instructor Trainer, or Instructor in CRC’s Prevention & Safety Programs.
- Experience with reviews, evaluations, or conflict resolution processes.
- Fluency in English, French, and Indigenous languages is considered an asset
- A background or training in education, evaluation, or compliance.
