2021-2022 Nipivut Youth Leadership Conference
The Nipivut Youth Conference has been held annually since 2016. Host communities include Iqaluit (October 2016), Cambridge Bay (March 2017), Rankin Inlet (October 2018) and Pond Inlet (October 2019). The goal of the conference is to engage and support student leadership and promote student wellness.
This year, because of COVID-19, the event will be held virtually. Each school will hold one live (online) presentation and show eight pre-recorded presentations. Students will be learning about self-care and caring for others during stress and crisis, using music and writing to learn the importance of self-identity through Inuit culture and language, information about Hope Ambassadors, and more!
Participating schools include Attagoyuk Ilisavik (Pangnirtung), Umimmak School (Grise Fjord), Peter Pitseolak School (Kinngait), Inuksuit School (Qikiqtarjuaq), Sanirajak (Hall Beach), Qaqqalik School (Kimmirut), Quluaq School (Clyde River), Inuksuk High School (Iqaluit), and Paatsaali School (Sanikiluaq).
