COVID-19 testing strengthens the relationship between Canada and the Philippines
- In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, as information began to flow into Canada about how serious this disease might become, Alberta Health Services started ramping up their testing capacity. Some 10,000 kilometres away in Southeast Asia, the Philippine Red Cross took notice.
Canadian Red Cross provides additional financial help for people evacuated as a result of British Columbia wildfires
- Thanks to the generosity of Canadians who have contributed to the Canadian Red Cross B.C. Fires Appeal, the Red Cross will be providing financial assistance to people evacuated as a result of the British Columbia Fires, in addition to the funding being distributed on behalf of the Province of British Columbia.

Janis Mack helping people transition from hospital to home in B.C.
- Eight years ago, Janis Mack retired from her 42-year career as a pharmacist and began volunteering with the Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP) in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. HELP provides community healthcare equipment loan services in 75 locations across B.C. and Yukon to people recovering from illness or injury or wanting to spend their final days at home.
Keeping “DUDES” connected during the pandemic
- “The primary goal of our work is to increase social connectedness,” explains Frank Cohn, director of DUDES Club, a British Columbia-based non-profit organization that promotes men’s health and wellness, particularly among Indigenous communities.
