In early 2020, as measures to try to contain the spread of COVID-19 began, many of us had no idea how much our lives were about to change. In Canada, there are currently three approved vaccines. All vaccines were approved by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) after being reviewed through Health Canada’s independent drug authorization process. According to PHAC the quick development of the vaccines was made possible for many reasons, including advancements in technology, the amount of available funding, and collaboration between scientists, health professionals, researchers, industry leaders and government.
