February 13, 2012 - One year ago, the Red Cross in Newfoundland and Labrador announced it was embarking on an ambitious campaign to raise funds to establish a training centre and to be better prepared to respond to disasters. Business leaders and supporters in the community volunteered on the fundraising cabinet and set about reaching this goal.

January 17, 2012 - Congratulations go out to Canadian Red Cross volunteer Marvin MacLeod who received a Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his significant contributions over the years. Not only has he been active in disaster responses in his home province of Prince Edward Island and in neighbouring New Brunswick, Marvin has also helped recruit and train many volunteers in PEI.
