Canadian Red Cross aid worker Laura Archer shares how Red Cross teams are working with the Ministry of Health in Barbuda to rehabilitate local health facilities damaged by Hurricane Irma. The Canadian Red Cross sent two hospital rehabilitation kits to Barbuda to assemble a new emergency room. As health needs vary from one disaster to the next, it is crucial that our response be as adaptable as possible. Thanks to funding from the Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada, the Canadian Red Cross has been able to design new emergency response unit kits such as these for maximum flexibility in disasters.
