Éric Dion has been a volunteer since 2018. He is an Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Personal Disaster Team (PDAT) supervisor, a facilitator and senior facilitator for Emergency Management training and Emergency Management Information System (EMIS). He often answers PDAT calls in Montréal, has helped welcome Ukrainians, and supported vaccination centers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before joining the CRC, Éric served 25 years as senior officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. He served on six international deployments and many domestic operations, including: ice storms, floods, and forest fires.
Éric won the Jean-Pictet International Humanitarian Law (IHL) team competition and completed an internship at the International Committee of the Red Cross’ (ICRC) Institut Henri-Dunant (IHD).
Éric holds a PhD and currently teaches at l’École Nationale d’Administration Publique (ÉNAP).
As a National Member, Éric will bring a dynamic, and a pragmatic perspective in order to contribute to the excellence of the governance of the organization.
