Scott Osmachenko awarded the Order of Red Cross

For the past 19 years, Scott has been a dedicated and passionate supporter of the work and mission of the Canadian Red Cross.

He has provided a practical and strategic perspective that is grounded in the Red Cross Fundamental Principles.

He has continuously served in a number of governance and program positions including roles at a local, zone and national level.

In 2003 Scott began to volunteer in the Respect’Ed program as a Respect’Ed educator and assumed a leadership role as the youth member of the South Saskatchewan Regional Council.  

Since that time Scott has shared his leadership and expertise in society governance at all levels of the organization. 

As the Chair of the Southern Saskatchewan Regional Council Scott played an instrumental role in the successful merger of two regional councils into one provincial advisory committee.

Scott chaired the Saskatchewan Provincial Advisory Committee, was co-chair of the Western Zone Council and continues to serve as a National Voting Member.

Scott has and continues to play a vital role on the Saskatchewan and National Volunteer Award Committees.

As the chair of the Saskatchewan Volunteer Award Committee Scott is committed to ensuring that volunteers are thanked and recognized for all that they do.

In recognition of his deep and abiding devotion to the Fundamental Principles of the Society, as exemplified by his extraordinary contributions he has made to our humanitarian work, and in appreciation of his ongoing commitment to the community, the Canadian Red Cross Society takes great pleasure in welcoming Scott Osmachenko to the Order of Red Cross – Member level.
