Response highlights 

  • For details on the Red Cross response since the beginning of the floods in Québec, see our overview.
  • 5,708 families received Red Cross assistance: hotel lodging, food, clothing and financial support.
  • 679 Red Cross volunteers have been mobilized.
  • Over $10 million was rasied through contributions from the public, businesses, foundations and governments.

Red Cross teams are still present in three recovery offices in Gatineau, Rigaud, and Pierrefonds-Roxboro, with mobile teams regularly visiting communities affected by the floods. The Canadian Red Cross is working closely with municipal and provincial authorities.

In addition to the initial $600 in direct financial assistance to flooded households, the Red Cross is providing additional financial assistance to support those hardest hit as they recover. 

If your household was impacted by floods :

  • If your residence is destroyed or has major damage, you could be eligible for additional financial assistance.
  • Additional financial assistance may also be provided to you if your financial situation is precarious.
  • To receive this help, you must meet certain criteria. You can verify your eligibility by calling 1 800 863-6582.
  • If you need immediate assistance, please visit a Red Cross recovery centre.
