Volunteer Profile: Robert Dean

This week’s feature volunteer is Robert Dean who has been with the Canadian Red Cross for four years.
Robert is an Emergency Response Team (ERT) supervisor for central region and a government liaison designate for the Provincial Disaster Coordination Team (PDCT).
His relief efforts have spanned the continent. Robert has provided services in Manitoba, Alberta, B.C. and even North Carolina.
“I have felt the relief, gratitude and respect that people show, both for our organization and for our individual efforts,” said Robert.
A retired conservation officer, Robert now devotes his time to travelling, motorcycling, working on genealogy, lending a helping hand at his daughter’s daycare and being a doting grandpa.
Volunteering for the Red Cross can open up the space and time in your life to help others.
“Joining the Red Cross as a volunteer will give you many opportunities to lend a helping hand to people and communities when they need it most. Sometimes it’s face-to-face and sometimes it’s behind the scenes but it’s always an opportunity to give of yourself in aid of another.”
Give yourself the opportunity to give to others. Learn more about becoming a Red Cross volunteer at www.redcross.ca/HeroesWantedMB email vrs@redcross.ca or call 204-982-7330 for more details.
