The University of Windsor Faculty of Law and The Transnational Entertainment & Arts Law Clinic (TEALC) is partnering with the International Humanitarian Law team at the Canadian Red Cross to host this year’s IHL Conference on Protection of Cultural Property During Conflict. This FREE conference will be hosted in English and in person on Thursday, March 12th, 2026, in Windsor, Ontario. The conference is open to all students, professionals, and community members.

Cultural heritage is more than history—it is identity. This conference explores the legal protection of cultural property during armed conflict, especially through the lens of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and why safeguarding heritage is essential for communities, recovery, and peace. Participants will examine legal frameworks, real-world challenges, and practical approaches to safeguarding cultural heritage before, during, and after conflict.

Registration for this event is now closed.
