Congrats go to the Canadian Red Cross, Woodstock ON branch which recently received the Red Cross Odyssey Award. The provincial award recognizes outstanding and innovative accomplishments in the engagement of volunteers involved in direct service delivery.
This past year, the branch had a “Road Show” as a way to promote its various programs and services. Volunteers participated in numerous community events for an opportunity to chat with members of the public about the work of the Canadian Red Cross.
More people registered for first aid classes and other services, such as the transportation program, after each event. There was also a noticeable increase in the number of people interested in volunteering with the Red Cross.
