The Philippine Red Cross and the Canadian Red Cross are
working together to train and prepare for disaster responses, specifically for the deployment and operation of the emergency field hospital.
A training was recently held to increase the capability of Philippine Red Cross staff and volunteers to run the field hospital should it be required during health-related emergencies and disasters.
The training is part of ongoing efforts by the Canadian Red Cross since
Typhoon Haiyan to support the Philippine Red Cross. The Canadian Red Cross
handed over the field hospital to the Philippine Red Cross after it was initially deployed in Ormoc as part of the Typhoon Haiyan response.
