As we can see from these photos, Red Crossers across the country have been busy this summer hitting up lakes, beaches, marinas, parks and festivals to provide information to Canadians on how to stay safe when they are out boating or simply enjoying the water.
While it’s soon time to head back to school and for some that means hanging up their paddle for the season, boating safety is key all year round. As the weather cools, it’s all the more important to be safe when out boating as the water temperature drops.
One of the most important message the Red Cross has been sharing around water safety and drowning prevention is to wear a PFD or lifejacket when out boating. You’ll find more boating safety tips on our website.
