Canada has over 100,000 public payphones, but with mobile phones becoming near-universal, many public booths are going the way of the Dodo. The Mexican Red Cross has come up with the perfect solution for old phone booths: a new fundraising campaign turns them into piggy banks! Anyone can donate to the Red Cross at one of their phone booth donation stations. The booths take a photo of the donor and post it to the Mexican Red Cross Facebook page, allowing the world a snapshot of the Red Cross’ many supporters.
