The Red Cross Round-up

The Round-up offers a weekly sample of what our Sister Red Cross Societies are working on around the world.

PAKISTAN: For the past four months, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society and the IFRC have been providing Basti Kumar Wala village and its neighbours, with clean, safe drinking water. Every afternoon, a tractor, loaded with 5,000 litres of treated water, pulls into this village of 1,600.

IVORY COAST: The ICRC is deeply concerned by the current situation and is doing its utmost to ensure that Red Cross medical activities can be conducted unhindered, and that humanitarian principles are upheld.

HAITI: On December 2, the community of Ça Ira, Leogane inaugurated its first community kiosk.  This wooden structure is more than a means to post information; it is also an integral tool in the Canadian Red Cross shelter program.
