One tag = $1

After a summer of flooding, forest fires and tornadoes across western Canada, severe weather continues to wreak havoc with significant flooding in British Columbia’s coastal communities.

Hundreds of people have been affected by the flooding, which has damaged property and infrastructure, forcing people from their homes and stranding travelers.

The Canadian Red Cross B.C. Floods Response has been swift: distributing cots, blankets and hygiene kits to displaced residents, in addition to providing more than 100 RONA clean-up kits to help flood-affected residents begin mopping up.

It’s not over yet though, and the Red Cross needs your help.

We are currently accepting donations to help those affected by the flooding. An easy way all of us to support the Red Cross is by participating in a special Facebook opportunity from the B.C. Credits Union.

They’ve set up a page called Be Remarkable. Every time you tag the photo called “Central Coast Disaster Relief” with your name or that of a friend’s they will donate $1 to the Red Cross West Coast Floods Relief. So that’s $1 for 1 tag, up to $20,000.

2)      Go to www.facebook.com/beremarkable

4)      Click on the Central Coast Disaster Relief section (on left – do not choose the “full” one).  This is the option where funds will go to the Red Cross.

7)      Go back to top of the picture and select “Done Tagging”

8)      Repeat on another picture
