As Chair of the Executive Cabinet in Saskatchewan, I am thrilled to be part of a dedicated organization that is focused on meeting the needs of people. Thanks to the thousands of volunteers and staff, generous donors, partners and local, provincial, territorial and federal governments, the Canadian Red Cross can support the most vulnerable in this great province.
As the frequency and severity of disasters and emergencies increase, the ability of the Red Cross to respond immediately is always impressive. Whether it is an apartment fire or an entire community evacuated due to wildfire, the Red Cross will be there to help.
I am also impressed by the relationships that the Red Cross develops to ensure their services reach as many people as possible. The partnership between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Red Cross is a prime example. Together, they have reached students with bullying prevention education in all corners of the province.
I truly appreciate the efforts of the Executive Cabinet members who have contributed time, talent or strategic advice to help make the Canadian Red Cross a respected, trusted, and successful organization.
