Salim Sohani, who works at the Canadian Red Cross as a Senior Health Advisor, International Operations, is in Kuala Lumpur this week at the Women Deliver Conference . This conference is hailed as the largest global event of the decade to focus on the health and empowerment of girls and women. Salim is attending as a part of the Canadian Network for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (CAN-MNCH). CAN-MNCH is working to showcase Canada’s commitment to improving Maternal, Newborn and Child Health across the world’s most vulnerable communities.
The Canadian Red Cross delivers maternal, newborn and child health programs in some 20 countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas, with close to $18 million dedicated annually toward health and hygiene interventions.
