Two long-time volunteers of the Canadian Red Cross in Atlantic Canada received the Order of Red Cross this past weekend during the national annual general meeting in Halifax.
Jeff Blackwood of St. John’s, NL has been involved with the Red Cross for more than 25 years, touching on everything from water safety and disaster management to leadership roles at the provincial and national levels. He’s pictured above with Ted Tanaka, outgoing president of the Canadian Red Cross.
Tim Cameron from Saint John, NB began his career with the Red Cross as a youth volunteer and he’s never looked back. His involvement spans more than four decades, as a staff member and a volunteer. He’s had a hand in fundraising and public relations, has been deployed to international relief operations and served on the regional council and the national board of the Canadian Red Cross.
Congratulations on receiving the highest honour awarded by the Canadian Red Cross!
