The Red Cross Round-up

The Round-up offers a weekly sample of what our sister Red Cross Societies are working on around the world.

TUNISIA: As part of a hygiene promotion activity, Mimi the Clown shows best hand washing practices to children staying at the Tunisian Red Crescent-IFRC Al Hayet Transit Camp until they can return to their home countries.

TIMOR LESTE: Timor Leste Red Cross has recently launched a road safety campaign which they plan to roll out across the country in 2011 – reflecting the growing concern within the IFRC that more needs to be done to reduce the increasing number of deaths and injuries resulting from road traffic accidents.

LIBYA: A ship chartered by the ICRC arrived in Misrata Monday morning, carrying medical supplies for the hospital, spare parts to repair water and electrical supply systems, and baby food for the civilian population.
