Missing Lives event

*Guest blog by Katie Kallio, Public Affairs Advisor with the Canadian Red Cross *

When you walk through the Missing Lives exhibit currently showcased at the Canadian War Museum – you cannot help but look at the faces in the photographs and see your own friends, your own family. What if you were separated from your mother, father, sister or brother and were left always wondering what happened to them – never knowing if they may still be alive – never able to grieve, to mourn, to get the closure you needed to move on...

Based on the book by Canadian writer Rory MacLean and British photographer Nick Danziger, the exhibit shows the work of the International Committee of the Red Cross and other partner organizations including the Canadian Red Cross to trace missing persons in the Balkans since 1991 and their efforts to answer the questions of families about their missing loved ones.
