Red Cross volunteer Paul Hennessey doubles as a Grocery Sherpa

For Canadian Red Cross Sault Ste. Marie branch volunteer Paul Hennessey, volunteering brings a new challenge every day.

One day he is providing support to a family who has lost their home to a fire. The next, he is driving seniors to medical appointments or shopping trips. He is also vice-president of his local branch council and member of several committees.

“My most fun stories are with senior services when I hang out with the seniors,” he says. “I usually end up carrying 20 bags of groceries up to their apartment. I get sucked in every time, but I don’t mind.”
