In the Fall of 2021, British Columbia experienced unprecedented flooding and landslides that damaged homes, washed away roads, and caused power outages. 17,000 people were evacuated from their homes—including Janet and Chris.

The Canadian Red Cross gave evacuees like Janet and Chris emergency financial assistance and clean-up kits. This essential support helped them repair damage and return home, just before the holidays.

A large-scale wildfire in Alberta triggered the evacuation of over 25,000 residents, workers and visitors.

1,300+ households counted on the Red Cross.

Ongoing conflict in Ukraine has triggered one of the largest humanitarian responses in history. Millions have lost their homes, livelihoods, loved ones, and access to basic services.

Escalating hostilities in this region have impacted millions of lives. In Gaza, 90 per cent of the population is displaced, with severely limited access to shelter, food, health care.
