Jamaica

Hurricane Melissa has been the costliest disaster in Jamaica’s history, with more than 1.3 million people forced from their homes, and access to food, water, healthcare, and education severely disrupted.

The Red Cross Red Crescent Movement has acted quickly, providing critical assistance to those who’ve been impacted.

Even with the current ceasefire agreement, the situation remains highly tenuous, and the humanitarian needs are immense. To help address the overwhelming demand for health care in Gaza, the Canadian Red Cross, in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and others, is operating a field hospital in Rafah.

Manitoba

This year, wildfires in Manitoba have resulted in one of the province’s most severe emergencies in recent memory. The Red Cross helped register 32,700 people and secured more than 2,600 hotel rooms for people in need of shelter.

Have Questions?

Can I update my donation amount or payment method once I become a monthly donor?

Yes, if you become a monthly donor online you will be able to access your monthly donation account in your donor portal. Within the portal you will be able to update payment information, change donation amount or cancel your donation.

When will my donation be deducted?

The first time you donate, funds will be deducted immediately. After that, monthly donations will be deducted on the same day each month.

When will I receive my tax receipt?

You will receive a consolidated tax receipt every February. This receipt will include all your charity giving to the Canadian Red Cross for the previous tax year and will be sent via email. Note: Tax receipts will be provided on the original amount, not the matched amount.

I am already a monthly donor will the match apply to me?

The monthly match is currently only available to new monthly donors. Subscribe to our email list to find out about future matching offers.

How does the monthly match work?

Our generous partner, GreenShield, has committed to matching monthly donations for an entire year, up to a total of $200,000.

Once the match amount has been met, donations will no longer be matched, but they will continue to go to where it is needed most.

How does my donation help?

Money donated to the Canadian Red Cross Fund is used to support the entire organization as this allows flexibility for the funds raised to be used wherever the current need is greatest. At home and around the world, the Red Cross is a sign of hope for people who have lost everything.
