Message from the Vice-President

Cindy Fuchs headshotThe past year was noteworthy for the Red Cross in Saskatchewan.

First, I am proud to announce that we achieved our five-year Imagine No Bullying campaign goal of reaching every Saskatchewan student with critical bullying prevention information. I can say with confidence that this campaign changed the culture around bullying. We could not have achieved this goal without the strength of our corporate partners like AGT Foods and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Red Cross family grew last year. We now have over 480 active, highly trained volunteers who are ready to help families when a disaster strikes. We are working hard to have even more volunteers in every corner of the province.

I am excited about the work we are doing in several Indigenous communities. The growth we have seen in this work is directly attributable to the collaboration agreements we signed to formalize the work we do together. We have already seen some incredible accomplishments by working in partnership with these communities and tribal councils.

This past year also saw the soft launch of the Red Cross Psychological First Aid program. This training is critical for anyone who wants to assist a person experiencing a mental health emergency.

Every day I get to hear stories and meet people that are benefitting from your support. I hope you will take time to read through this report and learn how we are making a difference right here in Saskatchewan. We really couldn't do it without you.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
