From PEI to BC, our Red Cross staff and volunteers celebrated Pink Day yesterday. Check out some of the highlights from Pink Day events and activities held throughout the country.

At the Red Cross we’re celebrating Pink Day – a day to shine a light on issues surrounding bullying, and build awareness on how to stop it. Parents can be the first line of defence when it comes to bullying, whether their child is being bullied, is being a bully, or is witnessing it.
 

Working with and around others on a regular basis is often mandatory in our workplace but there are safety precautions we can all take to help minimize the risk of injury or illness. Check out these updates to the Canadian First Aid Guidelines.

This week the Nicaraguan Red Cross conducted a training with their staff and volunteers in organizing and operating Emergency Operations Centres. 

Louise-Julie, a volunteer for nearly 25 years, once again stepped in to support the Red Cross during the Syrian Refugee Arrival response. Louise-Julie spent the holidays with the big Red Cross family. She is there at the Welcome Centre nearly every day, where thousands of refugees have been arriving since mid-December.

As a four-year-old, John Napier splashed around his neighbourhood pool in Grand Prairie during his swimming lessons provided by the Canadian Red Cross. “You could say I was indoctrinated from a very young age,” he jokes. Now, Napier is a Water Safety Master Instructor Trainer with the Canadian Red Cross and has been a volunteer since 1998.
