The Red Cross Reports on the Magog Floods Fund

July 21, 2015 - Today, the Canadian Red Cross Quebec Zone and the City of Magog are releasing a report detailling the use of funds raised and the assistance offered to the community of Magog after the floods on September 2, 2013. 

The Red Cross continues to assist in Lac-Mégantic

July 02, 2015 - Two years will soon have passed since the tragic events in Lac-Mégantic, and the Red Cross continues to help the community get back on its feet. To date, 3,236 people have received Red Cross assistance, including children who have lost one or both parents, workers and students who have lost their jobs, as well as the owners of businesses affected by the disaster. Support has also been provided to 232 businesses, 17 non-profit organizations and over 150 projects. 

New friendly visiting program seeks volunteers

Gala benefit for the Red Cross in Quebec: $700,000 raised for emergency relief operations

May 21, 2015 - Montreal, May 21, 2015 – Guests attending the annual fundraiser for the Quebec Division of the Canadian Red Cross had the privilege of being transported to the heart of Marrakesh as Montreal’s New City Gas was clothed in Moroccan finery for the occasion. This colourful event raised $700,000 to support disaster response operations in Quebec. The financial information was disclosed by the co-chairs of the organizing committee including Norman Steinberg, Global Vice-Chair of Norton Rose Fulbright and Chairman of Norton Rose Fulbright Canada, Martin Thibodeau, President, Quebec Headquarters, RBC Royal Bank, and honorary chair Michèle Dionne, a Red Cross volunteer. 

Canadian banks accepting donations for Red Cross relief efforts in Nepal

Red Cross announces pilot project to assist seniors in rural communities maintain independence

(Regina, March 23, 2015) - The Canadian Red Cross is announcing a Friendly Visiting pilot program to combat seniors’ isolation. The Red Cross and the project’s founding partner, SecurTek, will officially launch the program in Yorkton this fall, with plans to expand to Preeceville, Norquay, Ituna, Melville, Langenburg and Churchbridge.
