Be a better boater this summer

June 01, 2017 - Every year hundreds of Canadians die tragically in boating incidents - the overwhelming majority of those who drowned were not wearing a lifejacket.   As we head into the summer months, many Canadians will be heading out on to the water to enjoy some of our most beautiful lakes.  The Canadian Red Cross believes all boaters regardless of swimming ability need to wear a properly fitting lifejacket, appropriate to the activity in which they are participating.

April 24, 2017 - Almost one year ago, the people of the Wood Buffalo region were fleeing as wildfires tore through their communities and homes. In the months following the disaster, an unprecedented $323 million was donated by individuals, community groups and companies across Canada, including matching funds from the Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta, to directly help those affected by the fires. The Red Cross has spent and committed $244 million to date, which represents 75 per cent of the total funds.
 

Walmart and its customers coming together for Canadians
