The Red Cross is distributing over 8,000 litres of drinking water every day to camps in Rakhine State, Myanmar. The camps are housing thousands of families displaced by inter-communal violence. Red Cross teams have also constructed wells and toilets to help meet some of the basic water and sanitation needs. Due to a lack of clean water and toilets in the camps and the cramped living conditions, disease could quickly spread.
